Junior Branch (JB) offers opportunities for youth to develop attitudes, skills and knowledge through educational initiatives that contribute to the mission and vision of CISV. CISV Victoria holds monthly JB Meetings for local youth to connect, learn, and play. Our next JB meeting will be on Friday, April 11th from 7-9pm at MMA (1841 Fairburn Dr). This month they’ll be running an activity that explores CISV’s pillar of Conflict and Resolution!  Reach out to our current Local Junior Representatives (LJRs), Samantha and Astrid, for more information or with any questions.

Also during our JB Meeting:

Local Volunteer Recruitment Session

CISV chapters are the hub of CISV and are run entirely by dedicated volunteers. Our chapters organize and run our local and international programmes, run local activities, and recruit new members. CISV Victoria is always pleased to welcome new volunteers to help with their regular work – fundraising, marketing, keeping the accounts, training, recruitment. Whatever skills and interest you have and however much time you are able to offer, we are interested in hearing from you!

We invite parents, alumni, and members of the CISV Victoria community to join us at our next JB Meeting to learn about the various roles on the executive board, different committees that are looking for members, and other small jobs that we’re looking for people to take on! You’ll have an opportunity to ask questions of current board members, and get more information about ways you can help out in our chapter! To learn about all the ways you can volunteer, check out the volunteering page on our website.

Secondhand Merch Donations Drive

Calling all CISV alumni! Do you have a pile of well-loved CISV clothes burning a hole in your closet? Have you been meaning to turn your old t-shirts into a quilt… for the last 10 years? This is your chance to pass your clothes along to a loving home. Bring your (washed please!) items to Maria Montessori Academy at 7pm to donate them. Can’t make it that day? Contact Lilly to arrange a local drop-off.

As a way to keep our chapter more environmentally sustainable, we are collecting gently-used CISV merchandise to sell at a more affordable rate to members of our Chapter. Travel clothes and trader items are a sentimental part of camp, and can be great reminders of our many connections around the world. By collecting used merchandise, we are able to keep CISV merch circulating to people who will appreciate it, and allow us to offer more affordable products which lowers the financial barrier to CISV.
