National Sustainability Committee
Are you passionate about environmental sustainability and creating a greener future for CISV? Join the CISV Canada Sustainability Committee, a joint JB/Adult team working to promote sustainability in CISV Canada!
This joint committee, composed of both Junior Branch (JB) and Adult members, works to promote environmental sustainability within CISV Canada. Our mission is to support chapters, participants, and families in adopting sustainable practices through education, resources, and policy recommendations.
Committee responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and recommending annual carbon offset projects for CISV-funded travel.
- Supporting chapters and other committees in developing sustainability strategies.
- Encouraging and incentivizing environmentally responsible practices.
- Creating and distributing an onboarding sustainability package for CISV families, including travel offset information, green travel tips, and access to further resources.
- Collaborating with CISV International’s De-Carbonizing Working Group as needed.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about environmental issues, collaborative, and eager to contribute ideas and time to advancing sustainability across our organization.
Committee Structure:
- 8 members: 4 JB and 4 Adult representatives.
- Co-chaired by one JB and one Adult, elected annually by the committee.
- Members serve staggered 2-year terms; you may serve multiple terms.
- Monthly virtual meetings and approximately 3 hours of total time commitment per month.

JB Canada Junior Board
We are so excited to announce that the second wave of applications for the 2025–2026 JB Canada Junior Board is officially OPEN!
After an amazing first round, we’ve already selected a strong four-person JB Executive and now we’re searching for two more passionate, motivated JBers to complete this year’s national Executive Team.
These positions will fill the remaining Junior Executive roles within JB Canada’s newly restructured, portfolio-based Executive model. Junior Executives serve a two-year term: the first year as a Junior Exec, followed by an automatic transition into the Senior Exec role in their second year. This model ensures continuity, leadership development, and consistent support across national portfolios.

JB SET and IJB Townhall
- gives CISV International a holistic view of how JB operates and the impact it creates
- provides clear insights for International and Regional JB Teams on strengths and gaps
- sets a baseline to track progress over time
- can turn the findings into action, feeding into the goals of the IJB year plan.
