CISV Victoria holds monthly JB Meetings for local youth (ages 10-25) to connect, learn, and play. Junior Branch (JB) offers opportunities for youth to develop attitudes, skills and knowledge through educational initiatives that contribute to the mission and vision of CISV.
Whether or not you have ever taken part in a CISV programme or activity, all our welcome at our JB Meetings. Since it’s the start of the year, this is a great opportunity to bring a friend to CISV and have them check out what we’re all about. Our first JB meeting of the new CISV year will be on Friday, October 17th from 7-9pm at Maria Montessori Academy (1841 Fairburn Dr). It will include lots of fun collaborating games, energizers, and icebreakers, welcoming everybody back for the new CISV year.
JB Meetings happen in the main area on the left side of the school, and parents are welcome to sit and observe, join our adult info session (more info below), or sometimes even join in with the youth activities. Reach out to our Sr. Local Junior Representative (LJR), Astrid, or our JB Liaison (aka adult advisor), Sophie, for more information or with any questions.
Missed September’s Info Night but still want to know about CISV Victoria? Maybe you attended but still want to know more? We’ll be hosting a CISV 101 information session on Friday, October 17 at MMA during our JB Meeting.
While info night was an introduction to CISV, this session will go more in-depth on the history of our organization, the ins-and-outs of peace education, and the ways that our local, national, and international programming promotes active global citizenship for today’s youth. Email Genevieve for more information.
