We’re excited to announce that registration for our spring minicamp is officially OPEN! Minicamps are a way for our Junior Branch to experience a CISV programme at the local level over the course of a weekend. At a minicamp there is a balance of physical activities, thought-provoking activities, simulations, fun games, as well as some free time. Participants must be prepared to think about and discuss a wide variety of topics and to have lots of fun.

Our minicamp will be held in Sooke, BC.  Arrival and check-in is on Friday May 1st at 7pm and pick up from camp is on Sunday, May 3rd at 12pm (noon).  The cost for minicamp is $125 for one participant, or two participants for $200 (this can be a sibling or a friend). You don’t have to be a CISV Victoria member to try out mini-camp, so invite your friends to camp!

To register, please fill out these two forms (links below) and return by Friday, April 24th. Forms can be scanned and emailed to jb@cisvvictoria.ca or delivered in person at the upcoming JB meeting on April 10th.

  1. Youth Legal Information Form – CANADA (to be completed by a parent/guardian)
  2. Child Code of Behaviour (to be completed by the youth participant)

Felix will send you a confirmation email that he has received your forms and that you are registered for minicamp. For payment, please bring a cheque to the April 10th JB Meeting, or send an e-transfer to treasurer@cisvvictoria.ca. Please include “Minicamp fees for [Child’s Name]”  in the memo section so we can keep track of who paid.

To learn more about our spring minicamp, check out the Pre-Camp Infopack, or reach out to our LJRs, Astrid & Felix with any questions.

Other Minicamp Notes

Chaperones: We are looking for a few volunteer chaperones (ages 21+) to join our minicamp! If you are interested in chaperoning please contact SarahNote: all participants aged 18 and older at camp must provide a criminal record check (CRC) for CISV Victoria. CISV will keep your name on record upon presenting a copy of the CRC in order to facilitate this process at future camps.

Minicamp Cooks: We are looking for a couple volunteers to help cook for our minicamp. You can help out for the whole weekend (you’re welcome to stay over with us or go home for the night) or just for part of it. We’re pretty self-sufficient for breakfasts but we’d love some assistance in the kitchen for lunch and dinner on the Saturday (May 2)! Email Sarah if you’re able to help!

JB Minicamp Bursary: In the event of financial hardship, fees may be reduced or waived and covered through the Junior Branch Bursary. To access this fund, please contact our Treasurer, Carmen. Requests are received and processed on a confidential basis.
If you wish to contribute to the JB Bursary Fund, please indicate in your minicamp payment the amount you are donating. A tax receipt will be issued for the donation amount.
